I honestly don’t remember much of November. I was desperately trying to work on NaNoWriMo, and teach the kids, and keep up with grading, and prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ve come to the conclusion whoever decided NaNoWriMo should be in November was a masicist.

November week 1
Superman got Last Night on Earth for Christmas from Aunt Tara (remember how we celebrated with her in October when she was down here?), and has been trying to get everyone to play with him as many times as he can.
Batman for his independent project tried to cook every day in October, and while he didn’t quite achieve it, we got some really amazing food, like the spatzl and chicken schnitzel he made for one meal. The other meal you see him dishing up is a meal with orzo of some sort. Half the recipes he made this month came from his new Overwatch cookbook.
We FINALLY watched Ready Player One, which we read way back in September, but for one reason or another kept not watching it. It was quite amusing to see the snacks we came up with, and how much it’s variations on “Nerd food.”
My Mom found a ransom letter I made for my brother over a decade ago for his Strawberry Shortcake pillow. Yes, he had one. It’s a long story, that I don’t fully understand.
And a fun shot of my dog staring at me. Oh, and Superman found his “Stinky pillowcase.” It’s a pillowcase he had when he was in preschool that has not survived well, and it smells. Because he carried it everywhere.
Week 2 in homeschooling
After I put this together, I realized I totally forgot to put a picture for Princess’ birthday on here. So Princess turned 13 on the 20th (I put the picture in the next collage).
Our co-op had our annual Thanksgiving potluck. There were sooooooo many kids there. I think we easily had 50 kids there, and not everyone was even there. It was pretty awesome! So the top right and the bottom left pictures are of the moms and the kids respectively. Then the picture with my logo is all of those vans. So many mini-vans, and 15 passenger vans, and then still more.
We watched Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (that was our October movie) and the kids had a lot of fun with this one, but it was a bit harder to come up with good snacks for this movie.
I’m almost done with my Gospel of John Bible study, which means we’ve hit the crucifixion and there are some amusing parts in there to me, like this bit I highlighted here. What is Peter’s response to soldiers arresting Jesus? Grab a sword and cut a guy’s ear off. I don’t know why this amused me this time, but it really did.
The final picture is my dog sitting on my face almost in the morning because he wants scratches. Dogs are weird.
November Week 3
Like I said, Princess and I worked on NaNoWriMo, and so we went out to coffee shops a couple of times to write. This particular time I got a picture of her, and then she stared at me like I was a crazy person. In my defense, I spent over an hour waiting for my computer to update, so I was entertaining myself.
Jeff picked up a rowing machine to help get us both in shape, so I’ve been texting him pictures of myself when I get some exercising in to encourage him to use it as well.
I’m going to be reviewing WriteShop later in January, and they sent me a copy of all level 1 for high school. This is particularly amusing because I’d already bought it for my kids last spring, so I now have an extra one. I’m trying to decide just what I’ll do with my extra one.
I found this hilarious baby onesie that lets your kids sweep the floor while crawling, sadly it’s out of stock so I can’t give it to Tara for her daughter. She is probably glad it’s out of stock. Oohhhhh, it’s back in stock now….. That could be so hilarious!
I got The Captain is Dead for Christmas and Jeff and I played a two player round, which was a lot of fun. I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. The intructions are rubbish, but thankfully I had Tara and Josh to explain how to play it.
That final bottom middle picture was a quick sketch of a joke we were making in our family campaign. My character is this super strong 12 year old girl, and I beat all of the giant hulking adults in the caber toss (throwing telephone poles).
November Week 4
Okay, this is a actually just the rest of November.
These pictures are not in the least bit in chronlogical order, but going around more or less clockwise starting in the top left.
We went to the Renaissance Festival on Black Friday, which was lots of fun, though tiring. The middle picture with Princess looking out the window in the car is us riding down there.
On top of that, after getting back from Ren Fest we watched Home Alone 2 and decorated Christmas presents.
Finishing up the top row, it’s my baby neice and I. My brother’s baby is totally her Mom’s girl, and so she was barely tolerating being held by Aunt Ticia.
The middle row, we finished reading/acting out Henry V, so we watched the Hollow Crown rendition of it, and still think the live version by Penefold theater was better.
We went on a double date with my brother and his wife to see the Galaxy Quest documentary, Never Surrender, while my kids babysat. Afterwards, we all went back to their house and watched Galaxy Quest.
Superman finished up the first course of 42 Electronics, and I just purchased the second course for him to start in January.
And two random shots of me, then more of Batman baking. He made the recipes for our four countries we studied in November. Princess’ birthday cake, and then finally the book she got for her birthday, Neverland’s Key.
And that is November for us.
