I’ve been toying around with some printable Bible game ideas. My goal is to let kids have fun while reviewing Bible stories or learning about the Bible. I’ve been using games like this in our Sunday School lessons for years. Today we’re going to learn the Days of Creation with my brand new Creation Story Bible Game.

What you need to play the Creation Story Bible Game
the Creation Story Bible Game printable (since it’s black and white you can print it on several different colors, that’s another game I’ll share about later), cardstock, rubberband
This Bible game obviously goes with the Creation Story lesson
This is actually a link to a whole slew of activities I’ve written about the Creation Story. Next up is the Fall of Man, which I don’t have as many activities for yet.
Creation Story Rummy set up
When I put this together, I only ever had plans to play Creation Story Bible Game Rummy, BUT as I was printing it out, I started thinking of all sorts of different ideas. I just need to get some multi-colored cardstock and fix my printer which broke when Princess was printing something for school.

After you’ve printed the game, pull out the Days of Creation cheat sheet. This is the little reminder card so you know what you are looking for with each day. Think of this a bit like Bingo, there’s a free space because God rested on day 7, so you always have one extra card.

Deal out 7 cards to each player. As you do, you’ll notice the deck is skewed to the last two days of Creation with lots of animals drawn. Let’s face it, they’re a lot more fun to draw.

This deck is designed to be played with 2-4 players. If you want to play with more, just print off a second deck of cards, and you could mix the two decks, or split into two groups. Turn over the top card of the leftover cards, and leave it face up.
You’re now ready to….
Play Creation Story Bible Rummy!
In my head, you should be reading that like when they shout out, “Let’s get ready to RUMBlE!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Now, if you’re my boys and want to telegraph the setup of your hand, you sort it out and put the cards down on the table in piles. Of course, as we were playing yesterday, there was a lot of joking about the sheer number of flying creatures we had.

Seriously back to business though, the first player draws a card, they can either take the top card showing or get a mystery card. Most often, you’re grabbing a mystery card. However, if the top card is the light and darkness card for Day 1, let’s just say grab it for strategy.

Side note, my boys quickly figured out the strategy of grabbing a less common card and holding onto it to make sure someone else can’t win.

Play passes to the next player, and this continues on until someone gets all six Days of Creation. We decided to adopt the rules from Five Crowns, once someone has their full set of the Days of Creation, everyone else gets one more turn. This can let you keep points, playing with golf rules, of lowest points wins.
Playing multiple rounds of Creation Story Bible Rummy
If you want this to become a multi-round game, you’re going to need to keep score, there are two methods you could use.
- Award a point for each person who didn’t get a complete Days of Creation set. OR
- Award a point for each day you’re missing, points are going to add up quickly this way.

For the life of me, I could not get Day 1, light and darkness, for the first round, so I got 1 point. I had two of both Day 5 and Day 6, but only one of those is excess.
Both Princess and Batman got the full set of cards. Superman was in the same boat as me and also gained one point.
The second time around Superman deliberately kept as many light and darkness cards as he could and ended up with three points in his attempt to spite Batman.

Sounds like a fun game! You seem like a good person to design games, with all the ones you play!
Thanks! I have to admit so far my games are pretty much variations on common games people already know.
