Bluebonnets 2019
Bluebonnets were amazing this year! The great irony is, I had the hardest time finding a time to get some great bluebonnet pictures. I tried a couple of times at the patch in front of my Mom’s church, and kept having stuff go wrong (kids get injured, you name it). Finally, I spotted this one patch about a mile or so from our house, and we drove over with the dog, and piled out, and took pictures. So these pictures are from a couple of different attempts.
Princess’ Bluebonnet pictures
This is her picture where she had complete freedom to choose her clothes. Not that you can see the clothes through the dog.
Finally, a bit of a silly picture for Princess, the kids all think photo-bombing is the best thing ever!
Batman’s turn in the bluebonnets
This is the outfit Batman chose when left completely to himself.
Here’s the “wear a Batman shirt because your nickname on my blog is Batman” shot. That face is what I usually get when I ask him to smile.
Here’s Batman’s silly picture, I quite like Superman giving bunny ears.
Finally, Superman’s bluebonnet pictures
Superman chose to wear his chicken pajamas. He quite likes these silly pajamas, and wears them nonstop.
And here’s my “wear the Superman shirt because that’s your nickname” picture. This actually turned out quite good for his personality, it’s nice and silly.
I couldn’t decide on a good silly picture for Superman. I loved him posing with his face covered, and the shot of the boys wrestling was just too great not to include.
Group shots, pictures of me, and what have you for bluebonnets 2019
This was my attempt to mess with backgrounds and do some editing, but it ended up slightly blurry. Also, the problem with having your kids take your picture means you get lots of not, particularly good shots. The one shot I really liked, ended up with a giant semi in the background, which doesn’t look quite as good.
I, of course, had to try and recreate the kids sitting on my lap, which is getting harder and harder to do.
This is the first attempt at a shoot with my Mom, and I shanghaied my Mom into taking the pictures, and using an actual real camera confused the heck out of her. Which really made me laugh.
Question for you: any opinions on which picture I should use as I update pictures on the About Me page?
And here’s the prior years of bluebonnets

Those are great! I love that you’ve managed to keep up the tradition year after year. It does become more difficult to keep traditions with older children – but it looks like you’re all still have fun. I like the couple shot for your profile 🙂
I think you should use that last one in this post because you look so happy!
Love this tradition.Love the pictures and your bluebonnets tradition. Everyone is getting SO big!
