We are getting set to start astronomy for our science this year, and so I’m organizing my hands on astronomy ideas from pinterest into something usable, and you get the benefit of that.
Astronomy Supplies and general ideas
Astronomy Notebooking Journal (so excited to try out the older kids version this year)
(for my ease, I’m dividing this up into the segments to go with the Apologia Astronomy book, the earth science post will be divided up to go with the CKE Earth and Science)
What is Astronomy? activities
The big part for this chapter is the solar system in general, so here’s my favorite solar system activities
Solar System lapbook (with some early reading and math ideas thrown in)
Would you believe there’s still more generic solar system ideas on my board, these are just my favorite 5.
The Sun ideas
Mercury and Venus astronomy ideas
Earth science ideas
(this is coming soon, that’s a whole separate post because I’ve got so many of them)
The Moon activities
Phases of the moon ideas (printable and oreos)
Mars astronomy activities
Space Rocks activities
Jupiter astronomy ideas
Saturn astronomy ideas
Uranus and Neptune astronomy ideas
Pluto astronomy ideas
Stars and Galaxies ideas
I could title this section: constellation ideas, because I have so many cool ones
Space Travel activities
Look at liquids in space
See all those sections that are empty? I’d love to have some posts to add in to them. So, if you’ve got some space posts make sure to link them up and I’ll add them in to my missing categories. PLEASE!!!!!!
Also, does anyone know where I can find some cool space pictures to use? I mean, the pictures of my kids look very cool and all, but really have nothing to do with space. I’d rather have cool pictures of space.
PS: If I didn’t comment on your post yet, that’s because I spent parts of my “no kids” week sick and obsessively reading the last 3 books in the Harry Potter series.

Now link up your SCIENCE posts, new and old, and then visit some of the other posts linked up and say hi. I’m going to be pinning, commenting, FBing or tweeting all of the posts linked up as the week goes by. At the end of the month I’m going to feature the best posts linked up.
Make sure to include a link back to my blog so people can come back from your post to see what others have done. By linking you are agreeing I can feature your posts in a round up post later (I may use a picture to feature, but will link back).
