After finishing up the big cats, we moved on to Australia to study marsupials. As we did the kids were intrigued by the pouches they had.
That’s when inspiration hit: let’s make a kangaroo pouch craft, it’s the perfect idea.
Why a kangaroo pouch? Well because many of the other marsupials had pouches that were upside down, so if we put dolls in those pouches they’d fall out, and then I’d have crying kids. Besides, kangaroos are fun to act like.
SUPPLIES: paper plate, brown paint, yarn, stapler
First cut the paper plate in half.
Cut 2 pieces of string, long enough to be able to tie them around you. At each end tie fairly big knots.
Staple the two halves of the paper plate together. Make sure you catch the yarn in one of the staples.
Paint your project now that it’s all put together. Try your darnedest to get certain stubborn children to actually paint the whole thing.
They don’t listen if you’re wondering.
I have stubborn kids.
Instead I got a lot of looks like this, because her project wasn’t perfect. It was not the way she imagined it………. Not at all, and Mommy you need to fix it now. I have about 3 more pictures like this in varying degrees of anger at me.
But, in the end she posed for this cute picture, so it turned out all good. She found the dolly she wanted to put in there.
Tune in next week to see how we used our pouches, and further studies on marsupials.
Let’s see what others did this week:
Each week I’m spotlighting a few posts that were shared previously. Many posts get linked up later in the week and they don’t always get as many clicks as they deserve, so I’m trying to spotlight a few every week.
No Doubt Learning has been sharing a great series on hibernation, this week she shared some fun writing ideas.
