We’ve started our state studies back up with Florida, and I’m so excited to be going again.
I found a wonderful picture book, Everglades
After reading it I asked them to draw all they saw in it using our watercolor pencils.
After happily coloring and drawing and painting for quite a while, the boys proudly showed me their work (Princess never quite got her project done to the standard of wanting her picture taken).
So I present two boys who are very proud of their Florida Everglades projects.

I know, I’ve found a couple of absolutely gorgeous books for Florida, and I’m loving looking through them.
Florida is an interesting state to study. I miss doing the state studies. If only there were more hours in the day.
I do too. That’d make my life so much easier, especially right now when I’m feeling super busy!
What beautiful illustrations in that book! Some of the states I have had a pickle of time finding age appropriate books to use with the state studies. What storybook is the picture from in this post?

Their drawings are beautifully green – just like the Everglades!
Great idea to ask them to draw from inspiration in the book. Their results look so different!
