Hi! Future Ticia 2023 here, I’m updating this post and realized I did not do anywhere near good enough job talking about this Resurrection Eggs necklace I did with my Bible class all those years ago, so here is my updated version of this craft.
(there are affiliate links in here)
As I was searching for a great way that we hadn’t done already to tell the Easter story to my Sunday school class, I came across this version of the Resurrection Eggs (the blog I found no longer exists) we all use and know. I liked parts of it, but parts I wanted to change it around a bit because I rarely use something as I find it. So, I fiddled around and now have the perfect Resurrection Eggs craft, or at least a version of it.
For my Sunday School class, my husband and I spent all night tracing out the Resurrection Eggs craft pieces onto Shrinky Dinks. I would not recommend doing that, get the printable shrinky dink. But probably not if you’re making 20 of these, then you’re stuck tracing for hours and hours…… Which I can assure you is not as fun as it looks.
What you need for the Resurrection Eggs necklace craft
Resurrection Eggs printable (join my newsletter to get it), printable shrinky dink, either sharpies or colored pencils, scissors, hole punch, ribbon, and ziploc bags
Preparation for using Resurrection Eggs necklace craft in Sunday School class
As I said originally I traced all of those, but here is what I would do now:
After printing it off and letting the ink dry, I would then cut the eggs into sets of 4 or 2 and putting in a sandwich bag and a 12-18 inch long ribbon.
Then I created a quick little reminder for parents of how long you are supposed to bake them for and at what temperature. I did not include this in the printable because I know different shrinky dink papers might have different times and temperatures.
Then I packed up the sandwich bags and a supply of sharpies, colored pencils, scissors, and hole punches.
What each of the Resurrection Egss mean
- Donkey- John 12:14
- Bread- Matthew 26:26
- Praying hands- Mark 14:32
- Feather- Matthew 26:34
- Whip- John 19:1
- Washing hands- Matthew 27:24
- Crown of thorns- John 19:2
- Nail- John 20:25
- Dice- John 19:24
- Spear- John 19:33-34
- Rock- Matthew 28:2
- Empty Egg- Matthew 28:5-6
Goodness, I just looked at the images I have and realized I have coins not bread for the second image, I need to update it all to reflect what I have as the images. I’m rolling my eyes at myself.

Do you have coresponding verses for each picture? Some I know….
Ticia says
Okay, I double checked it. The references are listed for each picture on the 2nd and 3rd pages.
Kris says
You can also just print them and the laminate them with a heavy laminate and that works well.
